Thank you for visiting my page! I am Marissa Rotellini, a mother and self taught artist. I have been painting since 2014 when I began exploring beginner tutorials on YouTube and local paint nights. I started with acrylics and switched to oils in 2020. I currently live in South Orange County (California) with my husband Kevin, our son Giovanni, our dog Coby, and our cat Stinky Pete.
About My Art
All of my paintings are acrylics, oils, or a combination of both. I love exploring new concepts and ideas. My style has been described as “dark surrealism”. I love exploring the use of bright, vibrant colors with a dark and moody vibe. My work is typically very emotionally charged and will challenge you to see things in a different perspective. I draw inspiration from personal experiences, heavy emotions, and life changes.
My favorite experience as an artist is when someone tells me one of my paintings called out to them and they feel they were “meant to have it.” For someone I have never met to feel so connected to something that came from my imagination is truly a rewarding feeling.
