Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept commissions?
Please see the “Contact” page to check if I have commission availability open. I typically only accept 2-3 commissions per year. If I do not have an opening, please feel free to submit a contact form and I can add you to a waiting list for commission.
How much does a commissioned painting cost?
Commission pricing varies depending on size and complexity. Typically, smaller paintings (11x14”) will cost between $3-5/sq inch. Larger paintings run closer to $2-3/sq inch. All commissions require a non-refundable 50% deposit. The remaining balance can be paid in installments. I am very flexible with payment plans, but the finished product will not be shipped until paid in full. If you are interested in a commission, please visit the “Contact” page to submit a request form.
How long does a painting take to finish?
Generally, it takes me between 8-12 weeks to complete a painting, but this can vary quite a bit depending on size and complexity of the painting, as well as my existing workload. If there is a certain date you need a commission completed by, I recommend contacted me at least 12 weeks prior to the deadline.
I saw a piece on your social media, but I do not see a print available.
I share pictures of completed pieces on my social media as soon as they are finished. Each oil painting takes approximately 3 weeks to dry, varnish, and scan before prints can be made. If you like something you see, keep an eye on my socials for print drop announcements! Note: I do not produce prints of commissioned pieces.
What if the print size I want is not listed?
Custom sizes can be requested by contacting me via the contact link on my website. I will do my best to resize the piece to fit your request.
What materials do you use for your prints?
Prints are available in two forms: Fine Art Paper or Canvas. Both are produced using only archival materials and inks. Canvas prints come stretched and ready to hang with a wire installed on back.
What is the turnaround time for production and shipment?
Please expect 3-5 business days for shipment of paper prints. Lead time for canvas prints can take 1-2 weeks depending on production. If you need a rush canvas order, please contact me directly and I will do my best to expedite.
Do you ship internationally?
I am happy to ship original paintings outside of the US. While international orders do not qualify for free shipping, I will credit up to $20 towards the shipping cost. I generally do not ship prints outside US, but exceptions may be made for large prints or canvas orders. Please contact me for a shipping quote if you are outside the US.
What materials are used in your original paintings?
My smaller paintings (11x14” or smaller) are created on wood panels and larger pieces are created on gallery wrapped canvas. I use only archival materials and professional grade paints. All originals are varnished to protect from dust, debris and damage.
Do you make prints of all of your paintings?
While I do make prints of most of my paintings, there are a select few that I will reserve as a one-of-a-kind piece. I do not make prints of commissioned work.
What do I do if a print I ordered arrives damaged?
If you receive your print and it is damaged in any way, please contact me via email within 5 days of the package being marked “Delivered'“. Please provide clear pictures of the damaged print as well as any damage to the outside packaging. A replacement print will be shipped to you free of charge (3-5 business days for paper prints, 1-2 weeks for canvas prints).
For canvas prints, I will ask that you ship the damaged print back to me (at no cost to you). I will provide a shipping label for you to do so.
What do I do if a painting I ordered arrives damaged?
I am proud to say this has never happened with one of my paintings, and I hope it never does! If you receive a damaged painting, please contact me within 5 days of the package being marked “Delivered.” Please provide clear pictures of the damage to the painting as well as any damage to the outside packaging. Depending on the extent and location of the damage, we will discuss options for replacement, repair, or full refund. If you opt for a full refund, I do ask that you ship the original painting back to me (I will provide you with a prepaid shipping label).
What is your cancellation/return policy?
Unfortunately, I do not accept returns, except in the case of damage during shipping (see above). Cancelations made prior to shipment will be accepted and a full refund issued. Cancelation will not be accepted after shipping notification is sent.
